SMS Giveaway Day

I'm reading The Faerie Queen by Kiki Hamilton, the 4th and last in the series The Fairy Ring. It is a wonderful series, I reccommend to everyone.

I'm not a big reader, but recently read the autobiography of Love, Life and Elephants about Dr. Dame Daphne Sheldrick who runs the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya and saves orphaned animals, particularly elephants (but all animals are welcome). What an amazing book!

I reread one of my favorites recently. Gone with the Wind!
I read: Why we get fat and what to do about it. This was an eye opener. A good very good read for changing oneself for the better

Next on my reading list is Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good by Jan Karon. Love her Mitford series! Quirky characters and the stories are sweet and lovely.
"In a Sunburned Country" is a great book by Bill Bryson.
I don't get the chance to read a lot of books unfortunately, but right now I am attempting to read The Monmouth Summer which was a free book that I got on my Kindle.

I am currently rereading A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. First read this in the early 70s, step-niece has been reading it and reminded me of it. My best suggestion to anyone looking for a good book to read is to reread something that you read many years ago and loved. Amazing how different it seems now. And the commentary on violence in our society in A Clockwork Orange is certainly apropos these days.
I'm almost finished with "On The Road" by Jack Kerouac. It's referenced so often, but I'm just not finding it inspirational.

Sadly I don't get to read much since I am a teacher I am SO busy during the school year. I LOVE listening to audio books when I sew though, but sometimes it can be hard to find good ones. I really like Mary Higgins Clark.
I was told the last Ken Follett novel was quite good, I'll give it a try over the holidays. Thanks for the chance!
I just started the first of the series, leading to the new Follett book. By the time I am ready, I should be able to get the third from the library pretty easily!

I am just getting started in the Janet Evonavich series about Stephanie Plum. I haven't read in years, and used to read 2-3 books per week. But it went to the wayside when I learned to sew!
I think I have a a neil gaiman book waiting for me at the library. It's so nice being able to reserve them online and not just have to try to quickly pick one out there while toddler wrangling!
