What I Did On Sunday

I spent Sunday morning pulling fabrics for the Ugly Fabric Challenge and came up with quite a few.  I haven't decided on a project yet but I do know it will be a quilt.

I received some gifts.  I love both the Pomegranate lotion and lavender soap.
My dream is to see the lavender in Provence, France one day!  (Photo by Andie Li)

And I received flowers.  I've never had an orchid before.

I got to sew a bit---a basket block for the Sow-A-Long project.  I decided not to do the bonus block that Randy had posted.

We made a trip to my LQS who has two shop dogs.  It was their birthday today and there were cupcakes and free fat quarters to be had for contributors of dog food to the local Humane Society.  I chose Hello Luscious.

And finally a movie at the local art movie theater  and dinner out afterwards.  The day was bliss!
 How'd you spend yours?

Enjoy The Day

Just a brief post today to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day and hoping you get  some sewing-time or spend the day as you wish.  I'm thrilled to have my daughter home this year.  We haven't spent Mother's Day together since 2008!
Talk to you later~

Happy Mother's Day

Hello!  For all those with kids young enough to get gifts like these, lucky you!  My daughter never brought home a dog, but I did receive some mighty sweet handmade gifts and heartfelt hugs.  Unfortunately we are apart today, she finishing up her exams.  I fly up on Tuesday to St. Louis and then we drive back after loading all her crap stuff, can't wait!
Anyway, in anticipation of today, I bought myself a few gifts!
I am trying hard to be on a fabric diet but who can resist Fresh Cottons by Fig Tree Quilts?
Here's Garden Party that was a Daily Deal over at Missouri Star Quilt Company.  If you haven't checked them out, you need to.  Their service is wonderful.
Also bought a few patterns.
For the Year of Schnibbles this month it was Sewer's Choice, here's a sneak peak of what I'm working on.
I had two charm packs of Aster Manor and what a beautiful line.  I hadn't noticed that before, none of my LQSs had carried it.

Best wishes for a wonderful day!
